Working in Partnership with Parents

Little Angelz Day Nursery is on the first  floor at 54 Humberstone Gate.

You can gain access to our premises trough a video entry system.

Please do not allow anyone in our premises. Everyone must ring in order for us to safeguard all people within our provision.

The Preschool Children are based on the first floor, they can access our sensory room and the outdoor area anytime they like.

On the same floor there is a changing room, the kitchen, the teachers’ toilets and the Office.

On the second floor we have babies and toddlers who are in 2 large rooms, one for sleeping time one for playtime.

All our resources are age appropriate and kept clean and sterilized often.

The Toddlers and babies use the outdoor area for at least one hour every day.

WE ASK ALL PARENTS TO HELP US KEEP OUR CHILDREN SAFE BY BRINGING IN THE NURSERY A HAT AND SUNCREAM IN SUMMER AND APPROPRIATE CLOTHING IN WINTER.

In the nursery children wear slippers or socks, leggings or comfortable clothes.

Please bring nappies and wipes for change of nappy and a pack of wipes to clean your little angel’s face and hands.

Please bring a change of clothes to help us keep your child dry and healthy.

IF YOU COME WITH A PUSHCHAIR PLEASE FOLD IT AND STACK IT NEATLY IN THE HALLWAY AS THE MAIN DOOR IS A FIRE DOOR AND MUST BE FREE AT ALL TIMES.

On enrollment we need your child’s birth certificate or passport, the vaccinations red book, we need you to fill forms and to inform us of everything you know about your child.

All children are welcome to attend 3 or 4 short sessions prior to them starting attending the nursery to settle down and getting to know their key person. Please ask in the office when you can come and spend some time with us.

On enrollment parents are required to pay a small deposit and a non-refundable administration fee. The deposit will be reimbursed when the child stops attending. Our invoices are issued the 20th of every month and must be paid by the 30th of each month to avoid late payment’s charges. On arrival our children get to know their key person.

This will be your child’s teacher and the one who will assess your child’s needs and plan their work in order to help your child develop at the best pace possible.

Your role is to inform the key person of everything relevant to your child’s needs, achievements and any issues and incidents.

The key person will inform you of the termly planning and of any individual planning made for your child. They will explain the work in hand and will ask you to support the child’s learning by helping them at home and contributing to the planning.

Preschool children have one homework a week, please help our child understanding and completing this… children love sharing with their parents their discoveries and learning.

At the end of the first 2 or 4 weeks of attendance we complete a Tracker and Initial Assessment that constitute the starting point from which we plan the best possible work to enable your child to learn and to develop at the best rate possible. At this stage your contribution is of paramount importance as you live with your child and you are the best person to help us getting to know them.

We have termly Parents’ mornings. Please come along to have a cup of tea or coffee and a slice of cake and to discuss with us the progress made by our child and to disclose any issue or ideas to promote your child’s learning.

All our children have a LEARNING JOURNEY where we display their work and our observations. Please contribute to this by bringing in your family’s pictures, sending us notes and filling the forms to inform us of any achievement, trip or news worth sharing!!!!

WE LOVE FORMING STRONG PARTNERSHIPS WITH OUR PARENTS.

Please come and be part of our little community. Contribute ideas, tell us what you think, be an active part of our nursery.

What can you teach us, what can you share with us that would enrich our children’s learning??? Talk to us!!!
